A new production of the ‘Grit of Life’ – usually staged on the 83 year old Historical Narrowboat “Widgeon Theatreboat” is being presented to you this time against the backdrop of the Sea on Brighton Palace Pier. An astonishing musical, unlike those gone before. A told from different viewpoints, both past and present. The narrator weaves a tale through history and music. You will enjoy tapping feet, partaking in a quiz, listening to newly written songs by celebrated BBC radio 2 award winning folk, troubadour Musician and composer Rory Mcleod.
Written and Directed by John Knowles recent winner of the “Ironclad New Creative Writing 2021 award at the Brighton Fringe 2021. Produced by Widgeon’s own MJ Morgan known for her productions of Large Live musical events within both Television and Film. The musical celebrates an emerging cast – in order of appearance, Toby Barelli (otherwise known as “King Size Slim”), Maisy Beth Crunden, Kristin Duffy, Hannah Harris and Patrick McHugh. The show will take you on a colourfully informative journey of the waterways from a variety of perspectives and characters.
