ANDY DUNLOP is the lead guitarist of the band Travis and has written several songs for them, singing on some. They have had eighteen top 40 singles and eleven hit albums; their second, The Man Who, was released in 1999 and became that year’s biggest seller. Travis’s follow-up, The Iinvisible Band, also highly successful, was produced, as was their previous album, by Nigel Godrich, best known for working with Radiohead. Their most well known hit songs include Turn, Driftwood, Why Does It Always Rain on Me?, Coming Around and Sing. The band’s tenth album, L.A. Times, was released in the summer of 2024. Between 1998 and 2002, they were nominated for eight Brit Awards, winning three. Travis were formed while Andy studied at The Glasgow School of Art from 1989-93 with singer Fran Healy. He continued creating artwork, painting and drawing in later years under the name Elfi, although much of his time had certainly been taken up with the band. During lockdown, in 2001, Andy illustrated a travel and vegan cookery book for children, The Adventures of Chef Animo and Granny Vegano. www.travisonline.com
