Brighton Groove Project

Brighton Groove Project is an acid jazz and funk fusion jam night open to all musicians and music lovers. Backline, keys and drums provided.

The music is improvised around a riff or simple chord progression, with the groove as the guide.

Someone calls a key and starts a riff and everyone brings their sound to the mix. It’s a great opportunity to stretch out, work on your improvising or just dance to the funky grooves. Everyone is welcome.

Action for Happiness

An evening devoted to celebrating diversity and to the joys of letting our own unique light shine.

Action for Happiness is a movement of people committed to building a happier and more caring society. We want to see a fundamentally different way of life – where people care less about what they can get just for themselves and more about the happiness of others. We share
evidence based actions and ideas to help people lead authentically happier lives, one of these being learning to accept and and embrace our own differences.

Philippa Stanton: conscious creativity

Neat Neat Neat Presents

N0V3L (Members of Crack Cloud / Women)

+ Support

Novel is an engine of entertainment and social criticism weaponizing rhythm and melody against the unsound powers that be. Rigid new-wave, angular funk, polyrhythmic disco and intellectual punk together approximate a radical new sound that forms the principal means of ideological circulation. Drawing influence from such mindful predecessors as Devo and Public Enemy, Novel offers an empowering, politically-charged stance in fierce opposition to the modern cultural landscape, reflecting the corrupted nature of humanity back upon itself.

A sense of foreboding and comic paranoia pervades the debut EP: corporate power looms large, technological isolation seems omnipresent, and bureaucracy mines the psyche of detached participants. This constructed reality presents a hard-earned escape through critical thinking and direct action, acting as a call to mindfulness and moral resistance. Translated through the power of electric music.
