Late Night Stragglers Presents: ForTheRecord – Live 2.0
On December the 3rd, 10 of Brighton’s finest acts will join together for a fantastic night of music at The Latest Music Bar. With non stop music over the 6 and a half hours, over two stages, it is sure to be a great night.
22:20 Morgan M-James – Downstairs
Morgan M-James is headline ForTheRecord: Live 2.0 at the Latest Music Bar on December 3rd, following a breakout 2017 so far; amassing over half a million views on his YouTube channel and playing shows all across the country. Performing live with his full band, Morgan will be showcasing his unique blend of acoustic pop with catchy melodies and polished vocals creating a set that takes influence from artists such as Max Milner and Gabrielle Aplin, building them into a show that will have you on your feet from beginning to end.
21:40 – Levity – Downstairs
Levity are a 4-piece band based in Brighton that incorporate a mixture of soul, rock and funk into their music. Influenced by the likes of Funkadelic, Jimi Hendrix and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the band have been playing together for six months and have worked hard at creating an interesting and unique sound with a dynamic live act to go with it. An 8 track EP titled Cause & Effect was released in February 2017.
21:00 – Oktoba – Upstairs
Oktoba is the project of alt folk, singer songwriter Chris Athorne. Honest story telling with an emotive deliverance leaves live audiences captivated with his tales of love and life. Performances have included Latitude Festival, The Great Escape, Secret Garden Party and Sofar Sounds around the world.
20:30 – George Ogilvie – Upstairs
George Ogilvie is a truly gifted artist with a strong and unique voice and a great mix of genres in his songwriting. George has been gaining momentum over the last few years and released a fantastic EP “Silhouette” in 2013, as well as a beautiful track “Surveillance” which was released in August this year. George is in 6 figures for his YouTube views and Spotify hits and his performance credits include Communion, Mahogany and 7 Layers.
20:00 – Tigers and Flies – Downstairs
Any member of Tigers and Flies would modestly deny a comparison of sounding like a crossover between mid-60s West Coast pop (The Byrds, The Beach Boys) and gritty 1980s post-Punk (The Clash, The Jam) – but they’d love it. With an EP under their belt, as well as gigs in Paris and Utrecht, and a whole host of shows in hometown Brighton, Tigers and Flies have created an original sound that is guaranteed to charm and intrigue.
19:30 – Della Lupa – Upstairs
Della Lupa is from Brighton and is dark-pop of the very best. which is founded and dominated by the independent singer-songwriter Steph Brown. A unique fusion that unites the fascinating Kate Bush-like alternative pop with expressive but sometimes dark lyrical themes laced with an element of drama reminiscent of classical music.
Since her debut in 2013, Della Lupa has developed a reputation for outstanding live performances
19:00 – Dan Cox & The Blackbirds – Downstairs
Hailing from the sunny seaside town of Brighton and having now rediscovered each other several years after going to Northbrook college. Dan Cox has teamed up with the mighty Blackbirds to bring you Indie-rock that’s filled to the brim with memorable lyrics, lovely hooks, and delicious beats that will leave you wanting more!
18:30 – Max Bower – Upstairs
Max Bower is somewhat of an unknown quantity to the music scene in Brighton. Having been a part of many theatre shows including Limelight, in Brighton Fringe, where he played a singer songwriter and showcased some of his own original songs and covers. His music mixes a pop sound with an indie sound and you can heavily hear the influences of such bands as The 1975 and Arctic Monkeys in his songs.

Hollie Rogers is a singer, songwriter and guitarist with an incredibly powerful voice. Her live performances consistently receive outstanding reviews, with regular reference to the level of maturity in her lyrics and songs.
With the backing of BBC Introducing and two stunning studio albums under her belt, Hollie has supported acts like Suzanne Vega, Midge Ure, Paolo Nutini and Ben Howard. Often playing with a full backing band or as a duo with double bass, and performing with notable candour and honesty, her live shows are not to be missed.
Recently, Hollie’s fan base came together to crowdfund a new release through Kickstarter.
‘The Body To Ground EP’, produced by 4-time Grammy-nominated James McMillan, features Thomas Holder on double bass, with Mark Edwards (Katie Melua) on piano, and was released in April 2017. It’s available on iTunes and Spotify now.
5:30 – Christelle – Upstairs
Christelle is a singer/songwriter from Brighton who gigs all over the country performing original material and popular covers. She has been gigging since the young age of 12 and since has developed into an established and upcoming artist. With a quarter of a million views on YouTube, her inspirations include Gabrielle Aplin, Lorde, Ed Sheeran and Oh Wonder which really comes across when performing her chilled acoustic sets. With the second EP on the way, which includes 5 original tracks, Christelle hopes to one day have her music heard by millions of people. She believes that “music is one of the most influential sources of information in this day and age, if I can help anyone or spread important messages through my songs then that is time well spent.”
