GAZ COOMBES

Gaz Coombes co-formed the band Supergrass in 1993 and they released their debut album, I Should Coco, in 1995, finding themselves part of the Britpop scene. The album’s singles include Caught by the Fuzz and the highly upbeat Alright. They released five more albums and had a total of 14 top 40 singles, such as Going Out, Moving and Pumping on Your Stereo. Supergrass split up in 2010 and two years later, Gaz released his first solo album, Here Come the Bombs. He followed it up with two more, Matador and World’s Strongest Man. Supergrass reformed in 2019 and they were to play gigs around the world in 2020, but all were cancelled, due to COVID. The story of the band and Gaz Coombes, as well as their impact, is certainly far from over.
