NEIL CODLING

Neil Codling is best known for Suede, as keyboardist, rhythm guitarist, backing vocalist and co-songwriter. He joined the band in 1995, during the recording of their third album, Coming Up, which included singles such as Beautiful Ones and Trash. His involvement grew considerably, as Neil went on to write or co-write much of Suede’s output and he sang lead on Digging a Hole and Weight of the World, among other songs. In 2001, he left the band, due to fatigue, but reunited with them in 2010 and continued to play a particularly major part in their music, co-writing most of the songs up to 2022’s album, Autofiction. Neil is a cousin of Suede’s drummer, Simon Gilbert.
